CIRQUE BOOM ON THE BBC!
In October 2004, Cirque Boom appeared as a featured segment on BBC Television's art history show Rolf on Art. 7 million Britons watched Cirque Boom's Artistic Director Ruth Juliet Wikler and her collaborators on The Bruegel Triptych, Claudia and Nadine Orenstein, discuss their approach to bringing Pieter Bruegel's drawings and prints to the stage. Also in October 2004, Cirque Boom once again led the Village Halloween Parade on stilts!
On a balmy July weekend in 2005, Cirque Boom delighted over 300 Walt Whitman fans, Brooklyn families and circus aficionados with its first outdoor production: Madness and Joy!, part of the Second Annual Outside Art Festival of Free Performances in the BAM Cultural District. Many thanks to the BAM Local Development Corporation, chashama, the South Street Seaport Museum, the Walt Whitman Project, the Alan B. Slifka Foundation, the Philip S. Harper Foundation, and the many generous individuals who helped make Madness and Joy! possible.
